Court Rules Minister Unlawfully Fired DDG Who Blew The Whistle on Corruption

Public Service and Administration Minister Noxolo Kiviet broke the law when she fired a senior director for what was the department’s incompetence, a damning Labour Court ruling states.

Colette Clark, the public service and administration department’s deputy director general of research and analysis, successfully litigated against her employers, who were ordered to reinstate her following her 6 August illegal axing. The judgment was delivered in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

We understands from sources in the department that Clark was initially suspended on 13 October 2020 after she submitted a whistle-blower report on alleged corruption and mismanagement, with no action taken. She did not respond to requests for comment.
