Man Behind Vicious Klerksdorp Parking Lot Assault Arrested
A 33-year-old man has been arrested for the vicious assault caught on camera outside a Klerksdorp shopping centre, North West police have said.
Police spokesperson Colonel Adelé Myburgh said the man was expected to appear in court on Thursday morning.
Myburgh said the man faced charges of attempted murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Video footage of the assault surfaced on social media, showing a man in a black shirt punching two people in the parking lot of a shopping centre in the suburb of Doringkruin.
Both men fell to the ground after being punched, with one bleeding profusely from the head and face. According to police, he was admitted to hospital with “severe brain injuries”.
