A Nigerian female pilgrim from Niger State, Ramatu Abubakar has passed away in Saudi Arabia, the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board announced.

She was 45 years old.

The death of the Niger State pilgrim was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Jibrin Usman Kodo, stating that the deceased was among the pilgrims in the first flight that departed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna for Saudi Arabia last week.

According to the statement, Abubakar who hails from Bida local government area of the state died in Madina after she fell ill on arrival and was admitted at the hospital where she passed on.
