NNL Playoff: Usman celebrates Nasarawa’s win over Sokoto United

Nasarawa United head coach, Usman Adams says he is delighted with the victory over Sokoto United in the matchday two of the Super Eight playoff tournament.

The Solid Miners defeated Sokoto United 2-1 in a keenly contested encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday.

Adams also commended the players for proving their worth in the game.

Nasarawa United have garnered six points from the two matches played in the competition.

“Nobody saw us coming this far. They wrote us off, but better is the end of a matter than the beginning, I lack words to use in describing my players and coaching crew. They are just incredible,” he stated.

“It’s been an emotional season for us and all our supporters and fans alike, especially our Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, who, together with his deputy, continues to lend sufficient support to the team to return to the Premier League.

“We are glad we are where we are here, and hopefully, it will be completely sealed and delivered to them and the good people of Nasarawa State and our teaming fans around the globe in no distant time.

“We want to assure everyone that is there for us that we will fight till the end of this Super Eight in order to return home with our shoulders held high in gratitude and celebration. We continue to seek their support to attain this herculean but surmountable task.

“Regarding life in the NPFL, we are taking things one after the other.”
