Police nab 3 robbers in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects, Emmanuel John Aisewowhion (34), Philips Omomedia (37) and Christopher Semede (33), over alleged armed robbery and cultism.

The command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, said the suspects were arrested in Ughelli, Oghara, in Ethiope West LGA, and Orhowurun community in Udu LGA. He explained that Emmanuel John Aisewowhion, alias Small Juju, was arrested as a result of the confessions made by some suspects that were arrested in connection with kidnapping and cultism, and that he confessed to be a member of the Eiye confraternity.

Edafe said the suspect also confessed to having gotten a Beretta pistol recovered from his house from one Goodluck Sakutu, a suspected gunrunner already in police custody.

He said that Philips Omomedia was arrested for allegedly belonging to the Aro-Bagger confraternity, alleging that the suspect had been involved in a series of cult-related killings in the locality Ethiope West, and that one automatic double-barrel gun with 15 live cartridges was recovered from him.

Edafe further said that Christopher Semede was arrested with one locally made cut-to-size double-barrel pistol during a stop-and-search by operatives of the command on Oputu Road in Orhuwhorun community in Udu LGA.
