She never went to any length to open herself to more public scrutiny or place herself anymore in the public eye than she already was.

He has also directed a number of TV shows like Close to Home, Cold Case, as well as CSI: NY. Emilio Estevez also has a keen interest in growing vines. He grows them, produces, and also sells them under his brand label, Casa Dumetz which roughly translates “In honor of what I have learned”. While Carey Salley’s age at the time she was dating Emilio Estevez is yet unknown, it is assumed she was still in her teenage years because Estevez on the other hand was 21 years of age when he met the Wilhelmina model. The pair have two children together; Taylor Levi Estevez (born June 22, 1984) and Paloma Rae Estevez (born February 15, 1986).

Carey Salley May Have Broken Up With Emilio Estevez On Grounds Of Infidelity

It is not really known the cause of the breakup between Emilio Estevez and Carey Salley, however, it is widely believed that it is as a result of his relationship with veteran Hollywood actress and superstar Demi Moore whom he was engaged to at the time. In fact, it is reported that the period of his relationship and engagement with Demi Moore was the same time Carey had their second child.

Emilio Estevez and Carey Salley broke up in 1983, and by 1984 Demi Moore had called off her engagement with the veteran Hollywood star, stating that she called it off because she figured that she was not a priority in his life.

Their Break Up Was Quickly Followed By Lawsuits

In 1987, Carey filed a paternity suit against Emilio Estevez for $2 million. On the 1st of July of the same year, Estevez officially acknowledged the paternity of both Carey’s children, agreeing to pay the sum of $3,500 every month towards child support. The movie producer and director also decided on maintaining a medical insurance policy as well as the payment of reasonable and necessary medical, dental as well as hospital bills and expenses which do not fall within the scope of coverage of the insurance policy.

Furthermore, Estevez also made voluntary provisions for childcare, vacations, a housekeeper, food, private schooling, transportation, and a four-bedroom apartment in Malibu equipped with tennis club facilities and beach facilities.

Salley Demanded For An Increase In The Child Support Paid to Her By Emilio Estevez

However, in January 1993, Carey Salley sought to modify the child support order. While she was neither dissatisfied nor unhappy with the amount being provided, she was unhappy though with the way in which it was being provided. Carey argued that while Estevez was not legally obliged to go beyond the legally agreed $3,500, that lack of obligation could become a problem in the future as the $3,500 figure may not be able to furnish the lifestyle which they had grown accustomed to as a result of his generosity.

She further explained that she wanted to obtain appropriate support so that she could properly structure her finances which would enable her to rent a home in Pacific Palisades while enabling her the opportunity to pursue her career in acting. Consequently, she requested the court to order Emilio Estevez to keep on providing the amount of support to which their lifestyle had become accustomed to via his generosity, including satisfying payment on expenses accrued towards medical care and a life insurance benefit for each of her two children to be set at $1 million for each child.

On March 8, 1993, Salley proceeded to serve Emilio Estevez with a plaintiff’s request to produce documents and other tangible matters showing his income from the 1st of January 1991 till the 8th of March 1993 for inspection.

In responding to the request by Carey Salley with regards to the production of documents as well as other tangible matters to show his income flow, he stipulated that he had a gross income in excess of $1.4 million between 1990 and 1992, and his current gross income as of March 8, 1993, which was the date of the request, was in line with the previous three years which he had stipulated. He explained via his lawyer that requesting his financial documents was unnecessary and that he would be able to pay any amount the court deems to be reasonable towards the welfare of his children.
